Job title: Bilingual Female Psychologist/ Counsellor
Hours: 6 hours per week + admin duties – days to be agreed
Type of contract: Part-time
Length of contract: Two Years.
Liaising with: Management Team
Job Purpose: To offer minimum six months counselling/therapeutic sessions to individual woman from Kurdish & Turkish background that Roj Women’s
Association is committed to support.
To hold a caseload of 6 clients at any one time, for a minimum period of six months. For each client a contract of up to 26 sessions + related admin works.
1.1 To offer 6 weekly counselling sessions to 6 clients per week.
1.2 To ensure and maintain accurate record keeping and keep all other administrative tasks up-to-date.
1.3 Ensure the effects of Roj Women’s Association counselling service are monitored through questionnaires and evaluation provided to women using the
1.4 Provide help, advice and information to women and individuals contacting Roj Women’s Association. Refer women on to other services as and when
1.5 Carry out client initial sessions (assessments), ensuring that clients meet our criteria and that we are the most suitable organisation to provide them
1.6 To support further development of new and existing Roj Women’s Association services.
1.5 To have fortnightly (one hour) clinical supervision paid by Roj Women’s Association at a rate of £50.
1.6 To attend training or management meetings to facilitate your work, as deemed necessary by Roj Women’s Association.
1.7 To respect the confidentiality of the client at all times and abide by Roj Women’s Association confidentiality policy. Any counselling notes should be
stored safely and should not contain information that could identify the client (e.g. name, address, telephone number). All forms and notes belong to Roj
1.8 Provide regular short case studies on client work for funder report and applications.
1.9 Monthly report for the staff team meetings especially if there are any trends or issues coming from the client work
1.10 Be part of Roj Women’s Association Staff team.
1.11 Develop the counselling resources for purpose of assisting staff and volunteers, including articles, research, and practice developments relevant to
domestic abuse and working with trauma
1.12 Where applicable assist in the development of the therapeutic services offered by Roj Women’s Association.
1.13 If required give presentations on Roj Women’s Association to external agencies as required
2.1 To manage all clients related communication.
2.2 In the case of absence, communicate this to Roj Women’s Association and, if necessary directly to clients, with as much advance notice as is practicable.
Notice of holiday or other planned breaks should be of at least 4 weeks.
2.3 Ensure the smooth running of the service
3.1 Conduct all work in a way that reflects the aims and principles of Roj Women’s Association, particularly in relation to Roj’s policies on Equal
Opportunities and Confidentiality
3.2 Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the management team or Board of Trustees
3.3 Provide Roj Women’s Association and client a minimum period of notice of at least 4 weeks ending.
1.1 A minimum qualification requirement, a recognised and accredited diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling or equivalent is essential. 2 years direct
experience in psychotherapeutic/counselling support to victim/survivors of domestic violence including gender based harmful cultural practices. 3.1 Good
communication skills – in person, on the telephone, in writing and in meetings
3.2 Ability to establish good therapeutic relationships with female clients.
